I will take this opportunity to say that the subject was made easy to understand by the very able tutor .I found it a very full day covering a great deal of information. It was made understandable and memorable with true life illustrations.I would therefore like to pass on thanks and appreciation to Mr Jeff Doidge.

Safe Cylinder Handling + Manual Handling
This course is specifically designed for personnel who handle heavy, industrial gas cylinders.
Industrial gas cylinders are tall, thin, heavy and very, very unstable – serious injury can occur if cylinders are not moved correctly or if the correct equipment is not used.
This course also includes the principles of manual handling, backcare, risk assessments, etc.,.
The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 require employers to minimise the health risks associated with manual handling.
* avoid the need to lift, carry, push, pull, lower or support loads wherever possible
* mechanise tasks where they cannot be avoided by the use of trolleys, barrows, lifts or hoists
* carry out risk assessments, which take into account the work task, the activity involved, individual capacity, working environment and other factors.
