Moving & Handling of People
When people need to be assisted to move it is a potentially dangerous activity for all concerned. Our training can cover use of people handling equipment as well as aids to assist the occasions where people need to be physically moved. Industry Safety Training programmes can also help you meet the requirement for your training compliance of the Care Standards Act 2000.
Moving & Handling Training
As well as First Aid at Work and Manual Handling of inanimate objects, we provide training in assisted client and patient moving, which can include:
• Assistance to stand
• Assistance to walk (with and without aids)
• Bed to Chair
• Chair to chair transfers
• Chair to Toilet transfers
• Use of hoists / slings
• Slide patients/ clients up a bed
• Roll and turn patients/ clients

Aim Of The 1-day Session
* To provide learners with the theory, knowledge and practical skills of correct moving and handling procedures appropriate to their working environment
Objectives
At the completion of this session learners will have received theoretical and practical information on safer handling techniques, including the following:
- Relevant Legislation
- Basic Spinal Anatomy & Postures
- Ergonomics
- Controversial techniques / Work related injuries
- Risk assessment / Safe Working Loads
- Inert load handling
- Demonstrations and Practical sessions
