I will take this opportunity to say that the subject was made easy to understand by the very able tutor .I found it a very full day covering a great deal of information. It was made understandable and memorable with true life illustrations.I would therefore like to pass on thanks and appreciation to Mr Jeff Doidge.

Manual Handling Training
Manual handling (lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling and carrying loads) is the cause of a large number of injuries. This is usually due to a
poor lifting technique when carrying out the manual handling operation.
Under the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 (as amended), employers must ensure that any manual handling task that cannot be eliminated and that is likely to be a risk to health and safety is examined and assessed. Such tasks would include moving large pieces of equipment or materials in a workshop. A risk assessment should be conducted in order to assess these risks and to produce control measures to reduce the risk of injury.
At the end of our courses participants will be able to:
- Explain how manual handling can cause injury and provide examples.
- Demonstrate a general understanding of the purpose of conducting manual handling assessments.
- Discuss the principles for controlling manual handling risks and apply in a practical context.
- Successful participants will receive a certificate on completion.
We also offer bespoke courses - which include Manual Handling of Industrial Gas Cylinders.
